Guest Connection

Where do you meet for worship?

Our church building is located at 415 N. West St. in Buhler, Kansas. Click here for directions.

When do you meet?

Our worship service begins at 10:30am on Sunday morning and usually lasts until 11:40am - 11:45am. You may come earlier at 9:00am for our Sunday School which lasts until 10:10am, leaving a few minutes between Sunday School and our Worship Service to grab a cup of coffee, say hello to some people or gather your children if they have come with you and were part of a children's Sunday School class.

Can I check you out before I visit?

You're in our website so that's a good start. Before you come on a Sunday morning as our guest, we encourage you to check us out by watching an internet live broadcast of our entire Worship Service or a video of a previous service. If you have questions that remain after reading through our Guest Connection FAQs, feel free to also call our church office with your questions and talk with a secretary or one of our pastors. You may also ask someone who regularly attends BMBC what they think about the church.

What can I expect when I come on a Sunday morning?

We begin our service with a worship song, welcome and announcements from a pastor, and a brief time of meet and greet. Then our worship team leads us in a time of singing 2-4 worship songs consisting of both hymns and contemporary worship. Next, we worship through giving of tithes and offerings, but as our guest your attendance is your gift so please don't feel obligated to give. After the offering, someone reads the Scripture passage and then our pastor preaches an expository sermon based on the text (usually 30-40 minutes). We end the morning with a song or prayer. Some of the special exceptions to this typical order of service: testimonies of God at work, ministry updates within our church, Believer's baptism, missionary updates, and special music. Our current worship service attendance averages 175 including our children.

Do I need to dress up?

No. You may come in casual clothes or dress up for your visit and worship experience. We want our worship service to be all about Jesus and not at all about others.

What do you do for kids and youth?

We offer children's Sunday school from 9:00-10:10 for kids ages pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. There is also a nursery for children up to 2 years for both Sunday school and worship service. Kids ages pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are invited to join children's church which is held during the sermon portion of our worship service. All classes and ministries are based on the teaching of the Bible. Click here for more information on children's ministry at BMBC.

What's the sermon like?

The sermon is usually a verse-by-verse exposition or explanation of a biblical text. Suggestions for the personal application of the Scripture being studied are given during the sermon. Occasionally, you may also hear a topical sermon that takes a subject and builds an application on several Bible verses that address the topic being studied. Our Interim Pastor uses the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible but a variety of translations are welcome.

Do you have other opportunities that will help me learn to follow Jesus?

If you want to build friendships and relationships with others from the church before you attend a worship service, feel free to visit one of our small groups or Life Groups. You may call our church office at 620-543-2784.
