The Buhler Community

Daniel Friesen, Mayor of Buhler, is a member of our church and knows our community well. He writes:

"Buhler is located in south central Kansas about 12 miles northeast of Hutchinson. The Buhler community is home to an outstanding 4A school system with three elementary schools spread throughout the district, one middle school, and one high school. The City's recreation program offers a variety of activities for people of all ages, and the City's wellness center provides opportunities for year-round fitness. A vibrant downtown provides extraordinary shopping, delicious restaurant choices, a wide array of professional services, and innovative businesses. The City truly reflects its motto: Traditional Values, Progressive Ideas. Welcome to Buhler!" To learn more about Buhler, click here. You may also go to the Wikipedia article on Buhler here.

Our church serves our community and shares the love of Jesus by participating in the following ministries:

The Community Food Pantry offering temporary food supplies for those in urgent need is located in our church building. Contact our church Office for more information.

We also contribute to a Community Benevolent Fund that offers limited financial help for those who are experiencing hardship in Buhler. Contact the Buhler Mennonite Church for more information on this ministry. The community knows this sister church as the "South Church."

On Wednesday evenings during the school calendar, we provide low cost meals at the church in addition to Wednesday Night Light, a mid-week children's ministry. These meals are free for students 18 and under and they are a great way to meet people in our community, introduce them to our church family and ministries. Over 150 people usually come for some great food and fellowship. All are invited. Click here for more information.

Our church also has a strong connection to our the Buhler area schools (USD 313). Several teachers and staff from Buhler USD attend our church and we offer our church facilities for a variety of school functions.

Buhler MB Church also partners with other Buhler churches through our local pastor's fellowship, Pastors in Partnership. We participate with these churches and organizations in an Annual Joint Easter Sunrise Service and the fall Buhler Frolic Days Community Worship Service.

Our church also has many residents at the Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, a retirement center through nursing home Christian Care facility and residence. Our church founded this excellent center in 1948 and continues to participate in its life and ministry in a variety of ways. Click here for more information.

We value building up and growing our local town and community as well as our church community of brothers and sisters in Christ.
